Last night, the hockey world bared witness to a very unfortunate event as Adam Johnson tragically passed away after a freak accident in a game being played in England.

Johnson, who played for the Nottingham Panthers, suffered a deep neck laceration after colliding with a player from the Sheffield Steelers. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injury.

The hockey world has been sending their prayers, best wishes, and condolences all day on social media and pre-game for those playing tonight. With the Heritage Classic taking place tonight between the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames, both teams followed suit and took part in a moment of silence in memoriam of Adam Johnson.

Unfortunately a few Oilers fans ruined the moment by yelling out "Let's go Oilers".

Not really how you want to be seen or overheard during a moment of silence, let alone when you're taking part in a Heritage Classic with more eyes and ears on the game than usual. What a classless, insensitive display by these Oiler fans. Just disrespectful, embarrassing behaviour.
