Must See: Trevor Zegras and Connor Bedard try to upstage one another with highlight reel goals

For the first time in NHL history, the league had two lacrosse- style goals scored on the same night. The first was by Chicago's Connor Bedard against the St. Louis Blues and the second was from Anaheim's Trevor Zegras against the Seattle Kraken.

In the first period against St. Louis, Bedard picked up a pass behind the net from Philipp Kurashev, had a quick look over his shoulder and then scooped the puck onto his stick and stuffed it between Jordan Binnington and the post to tie the game at 1.

A few hours later, in his return from injury, Trevor Zegras did the same thing. In the third period of a 3-2 loss to Seattle, Zegras scooped the puck onto his stick and beat Joey Daccord to the post. The only difference, Zegras did it all in one motion without stopping behind the net. It was almost as if Zegras saw Bedard's goal and said "this is how you're supposed to do it."

It was Bedard's first such goal in the NHL while it was already the third time Zegras has scored such a goal. Unfortunately, both goals were scored in losing efforts, but they sure gave us something to talk about over the holidays.
